I understand your desire for the perfect Maine Coon, but it’s important to remember that each Maine Coon is unique and has its own individual personality traits, habits, and quirks. No two Maine Coons are exactly alike, and that’s what makes them so special.
As a Maine Coon breeder, my ultimate goal is to produce exceptional kittens. However, it’s important to recognize that cats, like humans and all living creatures, are not born without flaws. They may have health issues, crossed eyes, or even a less than ideal attitude. It’s impossible for a breeder to predict exactly how a kitten will develop and mature into adulthood.
While beauty is often what catches our eye, the health of my cats is my top priority. Sometimes, a breeding cat may develop a health problem that doesn’t surface until they are one or two years old or even older. If this issue is determined to be genetic or could potentially impact the health of their offspring, I retire that cat from my breeding program. I have retired cats in the past due to conditions such as entropion and a mother who produced kittens with FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis).
To continuously improve my breeding program, I send out surveys to every kitten owner each year. These surveys provide updates on the health and temperament of the kittens. I carefully review each report and, if necessary, discuss any concerns with the owners. This feedback helps me learn and make informed decisions about pairing my cats and the bloodlines I choose to reproduce.
Working on my breeding program is an ongoing process. I strive for constant improvement and will never feel like I’ve reached perfection. There will always be room for growth and enhancement. Additionally, once the kittens go to their new homes, please know that you will have my full support for the lifetime of your cat.

In reality, it is difficult to find a “perfect” cat in the strictest sense. No breeder anywhere in the world can or should promise you a flawless kitten, as kittens and cats are living beings with their own unique journeys. It would be unrealistic to expect perfection, just as we cannot predict the future for ourselves. The perfect Maine Coon is the one that is perfect for you, fitting seamlessly into your life and bringing you joy and companionship.
