Meet Bonnie
Bonnie, registered as Stars-Of-Monaco Bonnie Sensual/CF, is a black silver ticked tabby female born May 26, 2020. She was bred by Dana Monaco of Stars of Monaco in Slovakia and first registered with the Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA), the world’s largest registry of pedigreed cats, before she came to Texas and became one of the foundation queens of the Bellspurr program.
Her pedigree joins three European programs. Stars of Monaco in Slovakia bred her, and Everest in Italy is part of her Italian side. Her Russian side comes from StarArk, one of the largest Maine Coon catteries in the Moscow region. StarArk breeds only Maine Coons, keeps around a dozen males and forty females, registers with FIFe, WCF and ASC, and has cats holding top titles in several show systems. That Slovak, Italian and Russian combination is the base she brought to our silver lines.
Bonnie’s pattern also sets her apart. The CFA Maine Coon standard describes a ticked tabby as showing pronounced ticking over the body, with darkening along the spine but no spots, stripes or blotches, and it calls for a silver tabby to have a pale, clear silver ground with dense black markings. Ticking is genetically dominant over the classic and mackerel patterns, so it covers whichever of those patterns a cat carries underneath.
Her Basepaws v4 genetic panel screened her for 43 genetic diseases through 64 genetic markers. Every result was clear or carrier, with no at-risk findings, and she carries zero copies of the two tested HCM variants (MYBPC3 A31P and R820W). Her DNA report also predicts blood type A.
From Slovakia, Italy and Moscow to San Antonio, Bonnie brings documented European lines, a classic silver ticked coat, and a full DNA panel to the foundation of our program.
