London

London, registered as Purradisemcoons Fara of Bellspurr, is a black silver chinchilla female with extra toes, born June 3, 2024. She was bred by Belinda Tate of Purradisemcoons in McComb, Ohio, a program built on cats brought in from Romania, Ukraine, Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

Her lines come from two European catteries. Oracol Maine Coon in Bucharest, Romania, has sent silver shaded and shell cats to catteries across the United States, including Oracol Odin, a black silver shell male now in Oregon. Leolincoon in Austria has placed its silver shaded and shell cats in the United States and Switzerland, among them LeolinCoon Ragnar, a polydactyl black silver shell male.

Chinchilla is the palest form of silver. The white base runs almost the full length of each hair, with only the very tip in black, and London’s extra toes carry on the polydactyl trait that has been part of the Maine Coon since the breed’s early days.
