- Importing the lines — European breeding cats are expensive to bring into a U.S. program. Beyond the cost of the cat itself from a reputable European cattery, there's international transport, health certificates, and testing. Foundation animals cost far more than domestic pet lines.
- Full breeding rights and proven pedigree — a queen or stud with full breeding rights from strong, often titled European show lines costs more than a pet-only cat. You're paying for documented, proven lineage.
